Kids Choice Awards Giveaway!!!

Happy End of the Year!!!

I can't believe how fast this year has gone by. It seems like every year goes by faster and faster. "The days are long but the years are short." --- One of my favorite quotes! How true is that?

I figured that with the end of the school year quickly approaching I would do a giveaway for one of my Kids Choice Awards packs (in the color of your choice!).

I absolutely LOVE ending the year with these awards. It allows your kids to get involved and you will love seeing the looks on their faces when they find out who wins each award!

I begin by going over each award with the entire class. Then, every student gets a voting sheet so that they are able to vote for each award. I also give them a list of all the students in our class so they can cross names off as they vote.

Then, comes the hard part for the teacher. I go through each sheet and figure out which student actuallywins each award. Not going to lie- it can be time consuming, but I really like figuring out who the kids voted for for each award!

I send home an invitation to families and we start getting ready for the big day!

For the big awards show, I ask parents to send in refreshments (I've gotten some of the most ADORABLE cakes) and for the kids to dress nicely! I actually make a little program to go with the awards show and type up a list of the winners- the parents love it!

We roll out the red butcher paper red carpet and celebrate!!! The kids just love seeing who wins each award- their smiles make it all worth it!

This is definitely one of my favorite celebrations of the year!
Make sure to enter the giveaway below to win one to use in your classroom!

If I Only Knew Then.... A Letter to Myself as a First Year Teacher!

Have you guys seen this video????

I found it while scrolling through my Facebook newsfeed the other night (yes, that has really become part of my bedtime routine) and it made me start thinking back to my first year teaching!
That year was full of ups and downs, surprises and smiles, laughter and tears, and a lot of wishing and hoping! I know there were times that I didn't think I would make it through the year (and to be honest, I don't know if the kids learned anything that year)-but here I am, 6 years later- and I am still absolutely loving what I do!
So, I decided that it would be fun to write a letter to myself as a first year teacher. To remind myself that this really is the most amazing job and it is exactly where I need to be!
I would love for you to join me and write letters to yourselves as first year teachers. Link up below and share your letters! I can't wait to read them! Happy Teaching,

Wordless Wednesday- Lunch Choices

Happy Wonderful Wednesday!!! I hope you are having a fabulous week! I'm back for another link-up with the amazing Miss Decarbo from Sugar and Spice. I really look forward to this link-up each week! I really enjoy seeing what all of you do in your classrooms, I'm getting so many amazing ideas!

In my school, I need to turn in a salad count every morning to the cafeteria. It's easier for me to just have my students make their lunch choice as they come in in the morning- whether it's a hot lunch or salad from the cafeteria, or if they brought it from home. This also really helps with attendance in the mornings!

Do your students need to make their lunch choices each morning?
If so, what do you use for their lunch choices?

Happy Teaching,
