My Handwriting as a Font....What!?

Thinking about my handwriting as a font has always been in the back of my mind. I'm a little font obsessed, and always thought it would be so cool to see my very own handwriitng on my computer screen. Little did I know, it is SUPER easy!

My fabulous husband also thought it would be really cool to have his handwriting as a font, and he actually took the time to look it up and figure out how to actually do it!

After he created his font, he helped me create my very own {Chandra} font! If you want to create your very own font with YOUR handwriting, follow these simple steps!

Visit the My Script Font website!

I just printed it out on white cardstock and used my favorite black Papermate Flair pen to write in all the letters and symbols.

I was too excited to fill in every square, and you can see that I messed up on some of them! When you fill out your letters, make sure to stay inside the lines! I really want to do it again and pay close attention to the inside lines, my letters weren't lined up all the way- but then again, I kinda like it like that!

And then within minutes, you get to download and install YOUR VERY OWN FONT! How amazing and EASY is that!

It's just so much fun to see MY handwriting on my computer!

If you want to join in on the fun on Instagram, use #fabulousfont and show off your personalized font!!

Fairy Tale Fun!

What can I say, I'm a sucker for fairy tales! So of course, teaching fairy tales is easily one of my favorite units to teach! This year we didn't get to do as many crafts as I would usually like, so I wanted to do something fun to celebrate our learning and hard work!

I love a good project. And, my kids absolutely LOVE a good project. So, to celebrate the end of our fairy tale unit my sweet seconds completed a {Fairy Tale Fun} project!

I know how important it is for kids to have options, especially when they are completing things at home and don't always have certain supplies available to them. So, I created three different options.

I sent home this letter to all the families, as well as all the papers for each option. You could easily have the kids send something back to tell you which option they choose and send home only that option, but this was just easier for me and a major time saver!

These projects turned out SO incredibly cute! I was so proud of the creativity and thoughtfulness my kids put into these projects! We loved presenting them- and I loved a chance to get in another Speaking and Listening grade!

Aren't these so much fun!?

Red Carpet Reviews!

This grading period, we've been working hard on Opinion Writing! We started by learning about the difference between {fabulous facts} and {outstanding opinions}.

Then, we moved right into learning about writing reviews and sharing our opinons with the world! We used the OREO opinion writing model and had a blast with {tasty topic sentences} and {cookie concluding sentences}.

Then, we were ready to actually SHARE our opinions with the world. So, of course this calls for a red carpet ceremony!

I just used red butcher paper, but the kids absolutely LOVED it! They all took turns walking down the red carpet and shared their reviews with the class.

How do you celebrate the end of a writing unit in your classroom!?

{Currently} March!

March 1st. Seriously!? It can't possibly be March already. That means my little boy turns FOUR and my baby is almost ONE. It also means there are only a few months left of school! Absolutely CRAZY!

Linking up with Farley over at Oh Boy Fourth Grade is always a fun time at the beginning of the month! Great way to start a fresh new month!

Listening- I just finished my Sunday Night Necessities- baths, bedtime, lunches, and cleaning up the kitchen. So, now it's time to relax on the couch all by myself before heading to bed. I absolutley LOVE Modern Family and love that they are playing repeats all the time!

Loving- I've been waiting for this week for a long time! My teaching bestie and I are taking a personal day on Wednesday to go consignment shopping for our littles! We are headed to the Divine Children's Show, lunch, and maybe a little shopping for us! Perfect way to spend a personal day! :)

Thinking- Wow. It never really ends does it! My house is a complete disaster, and I have piles of clothes to get ready for a consignment sale, hang up my kids current clothes, vaccum, clean the floors, finish laundry, finish dishes, I mean the list goes on, and on, and on, and on (I could keep going). But, it will all still be here tomorrow- so for now, I'm forgetting about it!

Wanting- I go through phases. And, right now, I want EVERYTHING for myself. I think with spring quickly approaching I want to add some fun new pretties to my closet! I'm all about floral this year and want some new fun pants in a bright color- any ideas!? And, Stella & Dot's summer preview comes out soon! I can't wait!

Needing- Like I said earlier, it's my babies birthdays soon! Since their birthdays are only 11 days apart, we are combining their birthday parties! This year our theme is "Picnic Party!" and we are holding the party at a nearby park! I'm excited to not have to clean my house AND the vintage picnic theme is going to be so incredibly cute. I need to stop by Hobby Lobby soon and get my craft on!

Spring Break Plans- My Spring Break isn't until the 1st week of April, but we've already got a little trip to Nashville planned to celebrate my inlaws' 50th wedding anniversary! Then, we might be headed to a cabin in Tennesee for a couple of nights. Definitely going to be a different trip to Nashville than the one I took with my girlfriends a couple years ago, but it will still be fun!

Make sure to head back to Farley's blog and check out what everyone else is up to!

Happy March!
